Over $1 million in profit after taxes was recorded by the parent company of FM96, LegendFM, VITIFM, Navtarang, Radio Sargam and fijivillage, Communications Fiji Limited Group in the last calendar year ending December 31st.
CFL Board Chair William Parkinson stated this after their 40th Annual General Meeting today saying the Public Service Broadcast contract that was won earlier in the year is going to have a further positive effect on the bottom line.
Parkinson says they are seeing good growth in Fiji as well as Papua New Guinea, with things looking really positive as they approach CFL’s 40th birthday next month.
He says the message to shareholders is that they can look forward to some good returns in the coming years, as well as some exciting plans around CFL’s digital products, which they are launching and planning on both here and in PNG.
Parkinson says in terms of the upcoming 40th birthday, there’s a three day celebration planned with one of the activities focused on advertisers where CFL is bringing in experts from Australia and New Zealand in the area of Artificial Intelligence and marketing, and the power of on-air and digital marketing.
Parkinson says next Friday, CFL will host the annual Fiji Showcase event at the Vodafone Arena.
He also welcomed the new independent director and Chair of the Audit Risk Committee, Abigail Chang.
Chang joins the board with considerable board and governance experience both in Fiji and Papua New Guinea.
Shareholder, Unit Trust of Fiji’s representative on the CFL board is now Sakiusa Bolaira.
Bolaira brings to the board considerable broadcast and corporate governance experience.
