Hearing date for George Lagi's bribery case to be confirmed on July 10th

The hearing date for the suspended Deputy Director of Strategic Planning for the Fiji Police Force, George Lagi, who is charged with one count of bribery, will be confirmed on the 10th of next month.

Lagi appeared before Suva Magistrate Shageeth Somaratne this morning.

Defence laywer, Joji Cakau proposed that the agreed facts and documents be served to them.

It is alleged that between October 1st 2012 and January 31st 2014, Lagi whilst being employed with the Criminal Investigations Department, accepted a total advantage of $6,580.14 from a private individual on account of performing any act in his capacity as a CID Officer.
