The 30 Million Trees in 15 Years initiative is progressing well, and according to the Minister for Forest Alitia Bainivalu, more than 19 million trees have been planted under the initiative in six years.
Bainivalu said that more trees planted will benefit the economy, in terms of reducing the country's carbon emissions.
The program was set up by the previous government in 2019 in response to the climate crisis and is part of a broader effort to improve Fiji's forest cover by 2 percent by 2030.
It involves various tree species, including native, exotic, fruit, coastal, and mangrove trees.
