Students of Naloto District School in Ba will no longer have to drink from water tanks after Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka commissioned a new water pipe system worth $3,726.15.

This project was funded under the Small Grants Scheme after the school requested assistance.

Naloto District School currently caters to 114 students from early childhood to primary school levels.

Rabuka says for students and members of the big farming community in Toge and inland from Ba town, access to clean water and sanitation is recognized by the United Nations as a basic human right—fundamental to everyone’s health, dignity, and prosperity.

Rabuka adds the Water Authority of Fiji had to cart water to the school and surrounding villages to ensure residents had access to clean water.

Tui Naloto, Ratu Jone Naqiri, acknowledged the Government for its dedication and commitment to ensuring that future generations in Naloto have access to safe, clean and reliable water.
